Packing, Airports, and My First Day

Hello everyone I am alive and well in the beautiful country of Denmark! but  I figured I would talk a little bit about my journey to get here first before talking about my first day! So I started packing about three days before I left and it took me about that long to finish. I was really trying to pack light cause I knew I would be buying stuff here. I was pretty impressed with my packing in the end my checked bag weighed 42 pounds and my carry on was very light as well. I was really calm going to airport surprisingly I thought that I would be a lot more sad. It took finally saying goodbye to my mom to get me to cry. I am going to miss her so much but I know she is waiting for me to return so I'm going to enjoy my time in Denmark while it lasts. My flights and layovers were really uneventful but I did land early at every stop which was nice! So finally after traveling for what seemed like forever I arrived, got my bags, and walked out to a great welcome from Finn and my first two host families. They all were all very nice and I was very excited although also tired. I arrived at 11:05 and after being welcomed my first host family took me home and showed me around their (I guess mine too) house. They let me get settled in and then made me my first Danish lunch with open faced sandwiches on rye bread. I wasn't very hungry because I had some food on the plane but it was very delicious. I then went on walk around Dragoer  with Casja and Pernille. They got me ice cream from the place where Casja works it was very good like a lot of other things here and then we walked around the harbor and the walking streets. I was just trying to soak it in so I didn't take any pictures but you will see a lot of my town I promise. I then played cards with Casja she won but I will take her on again and I will win eventually ;). After that we watched part of a movie and then I took a shower to wake up before dinner again it was very good (I think I see a pattern here with food and everything pretty much) and then before I went to sleep I took my first bike ride with Jens to meet my third host family and Maria who was staying with them. They were kind and welcoming and Maria is also very cool I can tell :) When I got home I was really happy and really tired so I went to bed quite early. Mange Tak for the great first day I can't wait to see what is in store for me on my exchange.
